where is the school located?

Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier is located in a charming neighborhood of Québec City. Close to all the main bus lines, we are just 5 minutes by bus from Old Québec and 10 minutes from 3 large shopping malls. All our students can easily get to the school either on foot or by bus.

what happens during the program?

During the week, international students follow the school’s curriculum, in French, with the local students. They also take part in our enriched school life (sports teams, workshops, clubs, festivals, conferences, cultural activities, and volunteering) On the weekend, they are free to spend time with their host family or with their friends; we also regularly organize activities for international students.

Good times filled with new experiences!

WHO can participate in the program?

Any student from 8th to 11th grade with a minimum of French language level (Level A1)! You do not have to be bilingual in French. Program details

Our curriculum is based on the requirements of the Ministry of Education of Québec. As a private school, we have enriched our curriculum in order to offer a high-quality education.

International students follow all subjects in French along with our regular students, except for French itself, which is taught following a special program built for them (French second language).

Teachers are very conscious that French is not your mother language, so they will help you to make sure you understand. Thanks to the French language immersion, your French skills will improve so quickly that you will be able to follow the subject as a regular Quebecer student in a few weeks.

Our regular students are very open, welcoming and inclusive. They will be very happy to help you feel at home while being part of your integration process and everyday life in Saint-Charles-Garnier and in Québec City.

Keep your English going

Live the French immersion of the program and be part of the “English immersion program” that is open to our regular students. The program implies:
  • More English classes.
  • Follow the curriculum of English as a mother tongue.
  • Every 10 days, live a complete school day with activities in English.
