History

Founded in Québec in 1635 by the Jesuits, Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier is the oldest French-speaking school in North America. Today a secular school, Saint-Charles-Garnier keeps its values and is oriented towards the future and the world.

The school

Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier is a coeducational private high school. Around 600 students, divided in 20 groups from 7th to 11th grade, enroll every year for various reasons: our reputation, our enriched programs, our values, our personalized follow-up and guidance, as well as our convenient location in Québec City, making us a high-quality institution.

Located in the heart of magnificent Quebec City, the school has been able to revitalize and modernize its facilities to provide its students with all the appropriate equipment that will allow them to develop their skills, improve their performance or simply enjoy the moment with friends.

The Neighborhood and transportation

Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier is located in a charming and residential neighborhood of Québec City.

All of our students can easily get to the school either on foot or by bus. With a bus stop just in front of the school, we are:

  • • Five minutes from Old Québec (downtown)
  • • Ten minutes from three large shopping malls
  • • Five minutes from Laval University

Around the school, you can find many services like a supermarket, a drugstore, a library, parks, restaurants, etc.

  • All students have an electronic school agenda and can access a shared calendar for students and teachers.
  • An education portal provides a privileged channel for communication Interactive digital platforms are used in conjunction with standard exercise books.
  • Students bring their own technological devices into the classroom (tablets and laptops) as well as using traditional paper and pens.
*Google apps for education is an integrated communication and collaboration solution designed for teaching establishments, featuring a suite of tools (Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, etc.).

Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier offers to its students a study program focused on:
